Automotive Haute Couture - The Bugatti La Voiture Noire
The Bugatti La Voiture Noire, has recently hit the market and the luxury buffs cannot stop gushing about it. It is the world’s most expensive new car to be sold and had made a debut on Bugatti’s 110th anniversary.
It pays a tribute to the brand’s icon Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic and is known to be the one of the most iconic inventions of Bugatti.
The Body:
The Bugatti La Voiture gets a complete carbon fibre body with a deep gloss black finish, hence, living upto the translation of La Voiture Noire “The black car”. It is a completely bespoke car, each and every component of the car is handcrafted.
The taillights are ultra wide, extend from side to side, the rear floats over the exhausts, and is elongated. Spectacular wing mirrors, LED Taillight strips and wheels, a floating windscreen and masked pillars, are one of the notable features.
The central spine from the hood to the trail resembles the epic and historic assembling techniques of the brand.
It recalls the unique design of the past through installation of exhaust pipes and slower at the rear of the car accompanied with illuminated Buggati lettering. The seven speed dual- clutch gearbox and the all wheel drive box provide for a more comfortable driving experience than the original.
The leathered and machined metals provide with an enthralling atmosphere for the driver. The interiors of the car will be customized as per the needs of the buyer, and nothing will be left to chance, since everything will be measured and made to fit the owner’s needs. The wheels and tires are also specific to this car.
It is nothing short of a piece of art.
The Performance:
The car is a mid-engine two – seater sports car and is based on the Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo Concept Car. When you talk about its performance, the performance takes after that of Bugatti Chiron , since the performance components are quite similar.
The engine is 8 litre, 16 cylinder quad turbo W-16, which develops a torque of 1479 bhp and 1180 pound foot which propels it to go from 0-60 miles in 2.5 seconds. The top speed of the car is 261mph or 420 km/hour, which has been electronically limited so that the car can provide a more touring refinement and a premium experience.
The brakes are 8 piston front and 6 piston rear, and each piston is different size to maximize the swept area. This is a one-off custom built with no compromises. And the power has not been changed, but the suspension has been lightened for a smooth ride.
The body is capable of holding more lateral G-force than any other Bugatti.
According to Bugatti, the final delivery of the car will take upto 2.5 years. There was only one example of the car which has already been purchased by an anonymous customer. The on road price of the car is estimated to be about Rs.1 32 crore.
